2022 Annual Report of Journal of Materials Informatics
The year 2022 has been significant for Journal of Materials Informatics (JMI). Thanks to the great effort and contributions made by authors, Editorial Board Members, reviewers, webinar supporters, readers, as well as the Editorial Office staff, JMI has achieved remarkable results and progress in the past year. Here, we would like to share the development of the journal in 2022 from the following aspects.
1. Publication
In 2022, JMI published four issues (Figure 1), including 20 articles (12 Research Articles, 7 Review Articles and 1 Viewpoint) with the research fields involving molecular dynamics simulation, machine learning, transfer-learning, deep learning, Bayesian optimization, active learning, high-throughput experiments, domain knowledge, Inverse design and so on. A total of 103 peer reviewers from different countries (Figure 2) strictly reviewed the articles and helped to improve their quality. The readers of JMI are widely distributed, including scholars from the USA, the UK, Germany and other countries (Figure 3).

3. Featured Content
To enhance the communications between scholars during the COVID-19 pandemic, we held six webinars in 2022, which were highly praised by scholars. More than 100,000 participants witnessed the success of these events. We highly appreciate these scholars (Figure 5) including Prof. Tong-Yi Zhang (Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Engineering Sciences), Prof. Turab Lookman, Prof. Claudia Draxl, Prof. Huajian Gao (Memberships in US National Academy of Sciences, US National Academy of Engineering, American Academy of Arts and Sciences, German National Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Academia Europaea), Prof. Yibin Xu, and Prof. Weinan E (Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences) for their great support of webinars.
